Irfan Khan

A descendent of the illustrious Sikar Gharana, renowned for its lineage of Indian classical music masters, Irfan Khan carries the torch as the ninth generation sitar player in his family. His legacy stretches back to his great-grandfather, Ustad Azim Khan Sahab, who graced the court of Sikar, Rajasthan, with his music.

Irfan’s musical odyssey commenced at the tender age of six, nurtured by the tutelage of his grandfather, the esteemed Ustad Gulab Khan Sahab. This journey continued under the guidance of his father, Ustad Niyaz Ahmed Khan Sahab, and his uncle, the Padma Bhushan honored Ustad Sultan Khan Sahab. Further enriching his repertoire, Irfan holds a degree in Arts from Jai Narayan Vyas University alongside a Master’s degree in Music (Sitar).

Irfan’s artistry has graced prestigious platforms like the Rajasthan International Folk Festival, Kala Ghoda, and the Sufi Festival, garnering widespread acclaim. His profound mastery of the sitar, coupled with his rich musical heritage, paves the way for a future resonating with exceptional promise.
